Communion Preparers Needed
We are looking for volunteers to help with our communion ministry. This involves preparing communion before the 9:15 service, helping between services to make sure things are set for the 11:00 o’clock service, and helping to clean up after the 11:00 o’clock service. This only involves one Sunday (usually the first Sunday) a month and you can choose any of the above times to help. If you would like to serve in this way click HERE to signup online.
Prayer Shawl Knitters Needed
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is in need of more prayer shawls. If you are able to make one, please consider picking up your knitting needles or crochet hook and making a shawl. Yarn is available. Someone will truly be blessed by your efforts. Questions, contact Nancy Lewis @ email@example.com .
Looking for Ushers
We are in need for people to serve as ushers during the 9:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. Commitment is once a month. Contact Mike Harrison at 248.779.1156 or Harrison.firstname.lastname@example.org
Funeral Luncheon Help Needed
Faith Covenant Church offers support to families who have lost a loved one. A funeral/memorial service luncheon is provided here at the church if requested. We are looking for volunteers to help serve these luncheons. Also, to contribute food – typically salads and desserts. Help would be needed only a few times each year.
Welcome Team Ministry
The Welcome Team ministry (previously known as Faith Hosts) is in need of additional greeters. The team provides a warm handshake and welcoming smile as members, newcomers and visitors arrive at Faith Covenant for either the 9:15 or 11:00 service.
The commitment is for only one Sunday a month. It is an excellent CONNECT, GROW and SERVE opportunity for individuals, couples, families and growth groups.
If you are interested or have questions, please contact Bill and Cynthia Dolezal by email or at 248-473-4108.
We are so blessed at Faith Covenant to support so many diverse ministries including our willingness to provide meals to individuals/families at times of special need. Such times include illness, surgery, new baby, or recent death. To continue this program the Congregational Care Commission needs:
- Individuals to cook and/or provide meals
- Individuals to deliver meals
- A coordinator who accepts the calls identifying needs, contacts the family for specific dates, and then contacts those individuals willing to help with meals.
Margaret Smock has been the coordinator for this program for the past 3 years. She would like to resign to work in other areas at Faith. If you have questions and/or are interested in helping in one or more of these areas please contact Congregational Care Co Chairs, Nancy Lewis (586-907-3695) or Mary Ellen Hopfe (248-943-2761).
When you know of a family with needs, please contact the pastoral staff.
I am seeking volunteers from the congregation for Scripture readers for the first and second services. All age groups are welcome. I hope to have enough volunteers so the time commitment would only be once every five or six weeks. If you are interested in being part of the team, please contact Doug Berg.
